Dll errors when identified can be corrected.

One way to identify a computer error is to look carefully at the error message that pops-up on your screen. In most application-related errors, such as DLL errors, the error message will have a file name with its extension to give you a clue about what may have gone wrong.

Here are a few examples that will help you identify a DLL error:

“faultrep.dll not found”

“The file msvcr80.dll is missing”

“Not able to start the application. Msvbvm60.dll is missing. Reinstall the application”

Each of the above error messages contain a file name and also give you a fair bit of idea on what is wrong; the DLL file in the above error messages are either missing or the application is not able to access them. Zeroing in on the cause of the DLL error help you take immediate corrective measures.

Shared below are useful tips that help you identify the cause of DLL errors, such as the ones above and repair them.

Run the Search utility

When you receive a DLL file is missing or not found error, first use the built-in Search utility to determine if the file is present on your computer or not. If search results are negative, try to identify the cause of the missing DLL file. Ask yourself the following questions to determine the cause of the missing DLL file and then restore the DLL to repair the error.

Was the DLL file deleted by mistake?

If the answer is yes, check the contents of your Recycle Bin. If you find the DLL file there, restore it. If you have already emptied the Recycle Bin, use a reliable third-party recover tool to get the missing DLL file back.

Did a recent unisntallation cause the DLL file to go missing?

Often, when correct unisntallation procedures are not followed, shared DLLs also get removed. Recall if you recently uninstalled any program or application. Are you getting the DLL error soon after you uninstalled a program? If the answer is yes, reinstall the removed program to restore the DLL and fix the error. Next time, when you uninstall any program, remember to either use the built-in Add or Remove Programs utility, or a reliable third-party uninstaller tool.

If the above reasons do not seem to be the cause of missing DLL, download the DLL file from a trustworthy free online DLL Directory.

The DLL is present but still getting DLL missing or not found errors

If this is the case, chances are the copy of the DLL file on your system is corrupt. Malware infection is the most common cause behind corrupt DLLs. Run a malware scan on your system using advanced antivirus and antispyware tools. If the malware scan does not report any infections, reinstall the application that is generating the DLL error.

With proper maintenance and right software you can draw optimal performance from your computer for a long time. In this article, we will discuss tips that will help you speed up your slow PC and resolve common PC problems.

Install a reliable antivirus tool

Malware programs, such as viruses and trojans are often the root cause of various system errors, such as cl.exe and other exe errors. Besides, being responsible for various errors, these infections also considerably hamper the performance of your computer. In extreme cases, malware infections may even make your computer unbootable.

To ensure that your computer works at an optimal level and to resolve errors caused by malware, install an advanced antivirus tool on your system. Furthermore, you should schedule regular virus scans and keep your protective gear up-to-date with the latest virus definitions and security updates to ensure that your system is always safe from these threats.

Install an advanced spyware tool

Spyware are malicious programs that enter your system without your consent. Once inside, a typical spyware program unleashes innumerable processes that eat into your system’s resources. Moreover, processes associated with spyware programs are known to conflict with other legitimate running processes and cause frequent system slowdowns and errors.

To combat this menace, it is imperative that you install a robust antispyware tool on your system and schedule it to update regularly as well as run regular full system scans on your computer.

Uninstall unwanted programs

Go through the list of currently installed programs on your computer to see if you are running any unnecessary programs. If yes, promptly get rid of these unwanted and unused programs.

Keeping unnecessary programs not only puts a burden on your system resources, but may also lead to frequent errors. Further, when removing a program ensure all the files and registry entries related to the program are removed. Leftover files or registry entries may conflict with other processes and cause errors.

The correct way to uninstall programs is by using the built-in Add or Remove Programs utility. However, at times you may not be able to completely uninstall programs through this utility. This is especially true if the files of the program you are trying to uninstall are corrupt or have some problem. In such cases, you may use a reliable uninstaller tool to do a force uninstall. For instance, if you cannot uninstall AVG antivirus tool, using Add or Remove Programs utility, do a force uninstall, using a reliable third-party uninstaller tool.

Perform regular registry scans

Although an average user does not see the registry, it is a critical component of your Windows computer. The registry stores information related to your hardware, software, and user profiles.

Windows operating systems are dependent on the registry for its smooth functioning. Over time, a lot of junk information tends to creep into the registry and may cause your system performance to deteriorate.

Given its importance, it is necessary that you maintain a clean and compact registry. Perform regular registry scans using reliable registry cleaning software to flush out the unwanted, obsolete, and incorrect registry entries.

In addition to the above tips, also perform regular disk management activities, such as Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmentation to ensure that your PC works at an optimal speed.

Today, computers form an integral part of our work and personal lives and therefore any dip in PC performance has a direct impact us.

It is crucial for us, as computer users, to take some time to boost the performance of our PC and also take preventive steps to avoid common computer errors.

Here are some of the best ways to speed up a slow PC and prevent computer errors:

Perform regular disk management activities

Windows computers come with two useful utilities, called the Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter tools, that enable users to efficiently manage disk space and the way data is stored on hard drives.

The Disk Cleanup tool helps you identify and remove unused and unwanted files from your hard drives. Experts recommend that you run this utility at least once a month to ensure that only necessary data is stored on your hard drive.

The Disk Defragmenter tool helps you defrag the data stored on your hard drives. This utility not only speeds up your computer, but also prevents various hard-disk errors from occurring. For best results, you should run the Disk Defragmenter tool immediately after you conduct a disk cleanup.

Follow correct uninstallation procedures

When you uninstall a program, make sure that all its files and registry entries are also removed. Complete uninstallation of a program or software is crucial as leftover files of removed programs may cause errors or slow down your system by interfering with other processes.

On a Windows computer, use the built-in Add or Remove programs utility to ensure complete removal of programs or software. It is a useful utility that ensures complete removal of unwanted programs.

However, at times, especially when some files of the program you are uninstalling are corrupt, the Add or Remove programs utility fails to ensure complete removal. In such cases, it is recommended that you do a force uninstall using a reliable third-party uninstaller tool. For instance, if for some reason you cannot uninstall AVG software completely, seek the help of an advanced uninstaller tool to ensure its complete removal.

Regularly clean your registry

Although most computer users do not see or access the registry, it is one of the most critical components of your Windows operating system. A healthy and clean registry is essential for the smooth and error-free performance of your computer.

If your registry is unclean, cluttered or damaged, your PC performance will drop substantially and you may encounter frequent errors, such as cl.exe errors. Keeping your registry clean and healthy is not tough. Seek the help of a trustworthy and efficient registry cleaning tool for this purpose.

Install advanced security software

Besides slowing down your computer’s performance and causing frequent errors, malware infections are also a threat to your personal and confidential information. To safeguard your computer from malware programs, it is necessary that you install advanced and top-rated security tools on your computer.

Bob May, who donned The Robot's suit in the hit 1960s television show "Lost in Space," has died.

Bob May, who donned The Robot’s suit in the hit 1960s television show “Lost in Space,” has died. He was 69.

May died Sunday of congestive heart failure at a hospital in Lancaster, said his daughter, Deborah May.

He was a veteran actor and stuntman who had appeared in movies, TV shows and on the vaudeville stage when he was tapped by “Lost in Space” creator Irwin Allen to play the Robinson family’s loyal metal sidekick in the series that debuted in 1965.

“He always said he got the job because he fit in the robot suit,” said June Lockhart, who played family matriarch Maureen Robinson. “It was one of those wonderful Hollywood stories. He just happened to be on the studio lot when someone saw him and sent him to see Irwin Allen about the part. Allen said, ‘If you can fit in the suit, you’ve got the job.’”

Although May didn’t provide the robot’s distinctive voice (that was done by announcer Dick Tufeld), he developed a following of fans who sought him out at memorabilia shows.

“Lost in Space” was a space-age retelling of “The Swiss Family Robinson” story in which professor John Robinson, his wife and their children were on a space mission when their craft was knocked hopelessly off course by the evil Dr. Zachary Smith, who became trapped in space with them.

May’s robot was the Robinson family’s loyal sidekick, warning them of approaching disaster at every turn. His line to one of the children, “Danger, Will Robinson,” became a national catch phrase.

So we are all getting older by the day, that is almost too obvious to mention, and with it our appearance and mobility are changing as well, and not for the better either. Some people are lucky enough and wealthy enough to be able to fight aging with the surgeons scapel but the majority of us do not have this advantage.

The one obvious sign of aging is the deterioration in our skin quality, our aging skin is a give away of our age. You may be regretting all those days on the beach in hot spots around the world when you were younger because time has caught up with you.

We may not be able to reverse the aging of our skin or our bodies but we can help to slow it down by the application of good advice from an authority on anti aging. There are many websites offering good and sound advice but one excellent site that I often visit is Simply Anti Aging.

Eileen, your host, is a mature lady herself who lives with the problems of aging as all us other older people do as well. She not only lives with it but offers sound advice on all aspects of aging, from skin care to healthy lifestyle, anti aging nutrition and supplements and right down to those ugly ’spider veins. She has a complete anti aging site – packed full of anti aging tips, treatments and techniques to help you look younger and feel fantastic – whatever your age.

Simply Anti Aging is well laid out and is up to date on the latest news and products that are available to do what we can to help our bodies. There are so many creams, serums and moisturizers available that it is nice to have them summarized on the site for easy reading.

‘Beauty and age are never just skin deep. Take a look at anti aging from the inside out….’ is one of the opening lines on the site and is a great introduction to what can be found inside. You really should visit this site, you owe it to your body to do so and I think you will be pleased that you did.

One question that pops up all the time and is always a valid question is "Should I have a website or a blog".

One question that pops up all the time and is always a valid question is “Should I have a website or a blog”. This is easily answered by those in the know and the reasons for such an answer are over whelming.

First of all let’s make one thing clear, a blog is a website, in fact it can better be called a dynamic website. In the early days of blogging a blog looked like a blog and it was easy to recognize it. Now, with the development and constant improvement of blog themes and templates, it is virtually impossible to tell them apart. Traditional websites are known as static websites.

Blog is short for web log and is a constantly updating content managing system (CMS) arranged in reverse chronological order with the most recent update or post showing at the top, just below the site header. Visitors to your site will immediately see your most recent post as your site opens.

Once your blog is up and running you can add text, audio and video almost immediately and equally edit your posts just as quickly. Compared to this traditional websites are slow and tedious to publish and maintain. Once you are familiar with blog software and themes then you can easily manually install a new blog in minutes.

Blogs originated as ‘web logs’ or online diaries for enthusiasts to record and make public their day to day activities. The benefits of blogs soon became apparent and now more and more people, webmasters online businesses and companies use blogs for their websites.

It is much easier to optimize your site for the search engines with a blog.
With the way that blogs are designed and with the use of add on ‘plugins’ they are much better optimized and are found and indexed much more quickly by the search engines than static websites. Blogs show up much more often in organic searches than static websites. By default blogs are updated more often, search engines will crawl them easily and they love fresh content.

Each time you post to your blog you do, automatically, what is known as ‘pinging’ the update services. Pinging is the process of letting search engines and other sites know that new content has been added with an invite for them to come and take a look. This facility is not available with static sites.

Blogs allow you to interact with your readers and get their feedback since blogs give you the option of enabling a comments field to your posts to allow for feedback which gives you the chance to interact with your readers and add extra content to your blog.

Blogging software is free to download as are many themes or templates to make your blog more individual. As with many things, better quality and optimized themes cost money and are known as premium themes. However, there is no need to buy these themes as many are freely available. Blogs can be hosted for free but it is better to pay for your own hosting to have more control and hosting can be had for less than $8 per month.

For the cost of purchasing a domain name for $9 and paying your first month’s hosting fee you can get your first blog site up and running for $17. It can be cheaper than that infact but it is not reccommended to go down the road of free hosting and domain names. I will be writing more on this in another post.

Bloggers establish credibility faster than static site owners because blogs build a stronger and dynamic knowlegebase. As a blog is a CMS content is found much more easily than navigating through a static site.

Blogs have so many advantages, some mentioned above and some more advanced that they will be touched on in later posts, that it is no wonder that blogs are the websites of choice. One blog system, known as WordPress, stands head and shoulders above all other. Users of other systems might not agree with this, but I do and from now on all reference to blogging and CMS means WordPress and that is what I will be concentrating on.

Before I finish this article I would just like to mention that if you already have a static website do not despair as a blog can easily be added to you website with all the advantages that it can bring.

Most of us have some form of investments. In most cases we have money invested in a savings account and the stock market either directly or through a fund or trust.

Others have investments in real estate, works of art, postage stamps or similar forms of investment. Another type of investment that is becoming more popular is in precious metals. Either investing directly, through a mutual fund or as a trader.

To get started in this form of investment then you will need some good advice and one website that I can recommend is Precious Metal Investment which is a comprehensive site with information and up to date news on precious metals.

Did you know that Rhodium is the most expensive of precious metals? I didn’t, but I do know now after reading about it and all the other less well known precious metals.

Of course gold is the most famous of precious metals and you can read all about it and see the latest gold price on the website. There are good articles about using gold and other precious metals in a portfolio of investments as well as other useful articles and links to more information.

So if you are considering investing in precious metals or would like to learn more pop over to this informative website for more information.
