Maradona claimed national team manager Carlos Bilardo “betrayed him” and off “working in the shadows to oust him” after Argentina’s quarterfinal exit at the World Cup 2010. Maradona also accused AFA president Julio Grondona of lying about his future.

Maradona’s twenty months reign as Argentina manager ended on Tuesday after he rejected the demands to change his backroom team. “Grondona told me that he wanted me to continue as the coach, but that seven people from my coaching squad would have to go, that was impossible for me to agree to do” Maradona said on Wednesday.

“He knows that it is impossible for me to stay as coach without my colleagues. When he told me this, he was saying that he didn’t want me to carry on in the job.”

At the press conference Maradona read from a prepared speech for 12 minutes before leaving without taking questions as many of the assembled journalists applauded him.

Argentina under 20 team coach Sergio Bautista has become caretaker boss following Madonna’s departure. Bautista played alongside Maradona at the 1986 World Cup which Argentina won, and the manager was Bilardo.

Massa was told by his Ferrari race engineer Rob Smedley over the team radio “Alonso is faster than you. Can you convert them you understand?” Shortly after wards Alonso slowed down through turn six and allowed Alonso through. This conversation was heard by all viewers watching on TV. Then following the move Smedley added “Good lad. Just stick with it now, sorry”. Ferrari insisted the incident was a driver decision and said no instructions were given to the drivers.

This controversy tainted what was in fact a dominant display by Ferrari as the Italian team were quicker than their rivals from Red Bull and McLaren. To the fans who watched the race at the track or on TV this took a lot of the excitement away from the race. However from a Ferrari point of view if they want to win the F1 championship then it is more likely that Alonso can win as Massa does not have enough points. There can only be one winner, and call this team tactics or not, Ferrari made a decision to allow Alonso to win the race.

Alonso has had a tough time recently with the F1 steward’s decisions and he needed as many points as possible get back intuit he title race. Former F1 champion Michael Schumacher said “I have been criticized in the past for doing exactly that and I have to say that I would do exactly the same if I was in the same situation. At the end of the day, what are we here for? It’s fighting for a championship and it is only one that can win it”.

At the end of the day many people watching the German Grand Prix will know with that be disgusted by what happened and feel that they were deprived of seeing two men race against each other and Apple it out to the finish. MONOPLANES Monoplane hulls contain one uninterrupted surface in contact with the water. Monoplane hulls can be divided into 2 subcategories: deep-V’s and shallow-V’s.

Deep-V’s. As a rule monoplane hulls are deep-V’s. This traditional design brings the keel to a sharp point well beneath the surface of the water. The bottom of the boat is angled upward steeply toward the hull’s sides, resulting in a radio controlled boat that knifes through the water with a relatively large wetted surface area. This style of hull is stable at every speeds and provides sharper steering response. The downside is that the added hull surface that contacts the water causes drag that restricts top speed. Still, with the correct power system and proper tweaking, these radio controlled boats are plenty fast particularly for beginners.

Shallow-V’s are the faster of the two monoplane types because they run with a smaller amount surface area in contact with the water. The shallower keel v’s-angle produces a flatter bottom that causes less drag. The downside is that less contact with the water means a reduced amount of stability, so they are more tricky to control and demand more defined trimming. Shallow-vees are very widespread for entry-level racing, this type of radio controlled boat or the so-called Cracker boxes being the most common.

HYDROPLANES Hydroplanes have more than one surface in contact with the water. They involve tunnel hulls, catamarans, outriggers and stepped hydro’s.

Tunnel hulls are most often connected with full-size racing boats. They get their designation from the raised center part of the hull. 2 outer sections or sponsons sit in the water with a tunnel between them. As the boat gains velocity, air builds up in this tunnel and raises the boat higher out of the water. This reduces the surface area that contacts the water. This means less drag and higher speeds, while the relatively wide spacing of the sponsons maintains stability. This model provides a superior balance of speed and handling for newbies.

Catamarans (cats) work on the same principle as tunnel hulls and fluctuate only in shape . They have more steeply angled sponsons much like deep-vee monos with a tunnel along the center. A catamaran tunnel tends to be taller and narrower than a tunnel hull’s, so it takes longer to preserve stability. These also, are a good beginner design.

Outriggers are at the pinnacle of the performance ladder; their sponsons and main hull are separate pieces. This improves the airflow at high speeds, so outriggers are the fastest radio controlled boats; some even run at more than 90 miles per hour! The problem is that they’re intended to work best at full throttle. At slow speeds, they sit too low in the water and do not handle well. Moreover, they are the least forgiving when it comes to setting the trim.

Stepped hydroplane hulls have notches perpendicular to the center line that separate the wetted surface into two or more sections. These notches pick up the radio controlled boat up on step sooner, and that improves performance. At speed, these notches lessen the wetted area, reducing drag. This hull type includes a varied group, from plain deep-vees with small steps in the hull, to three-point hydro racers such as the full-size Miss Budweiser turbine-powered, unlimited hydroplane. At full speed, three-point hydro’s ride on 2 tiny areas of the forward sponsons and the centrally located propeller at the rear.

Any way you look at it radio controlled boats are a super way to spend a sunny afternoon. Take the time to enjoy the hobby and spend time with your family and friends.

Is your turning radius too tight? While the minimum turning radius for an O scale train is 24 inches you have to realize that box cars and passenger vehicles are not the same length. If you’re recreating an 19th century freight route you may be ok but if you decide that instead you’d like to run a modern Amtrak passenger train you may be tormented with derailments with such a little turning radius. Besides the functionality of too small a turn radius you also have the glaring fact that it just doesn’t look that realistic.

Are your inclines too steep? Most new model railroaders envisage some sort of tunnel or bridge in their layout where the trains will run beneath its own track or up over the roads the autos travel. When you are working in smaller scale where you have room to build long inclines this isn’t sometimes an issue . Not so with O scale. Given the height required to clear another train track your O scale layout will need a very long incline indeed particularly if you’ve made a long train to start with. You’re not going to go from ground level to train clearing bridge height in just two feet. If you don’t have big layout, a possible answer is to send your lower track slightly underground so that your higher track does not have to rise as much.

Is your landscape out of scale? Even though a locomotive is higher than an one story house we must remember that in actuality trees still tower over trains. No where is this single mistake made more than with O scale train layouts. The same scaling mistake is common with outbuildings and people. When buying any accessories or buildings for your layout make sure that you know it is to scale and not that it just looks to be the right scale.

Does your train match your track? Unlike Ho scale where everything just about works with everything else, O scale modeling can truly be confusing when it comes to matching the proper track to your train. Way back to the early days when these toy trains were run on shiny three rail tracks there were some major breakthroughs that include 2 rail systems, more authentic O gauges and the choice of running O scale trains on narrow tracks. Do your research before buying even your first train set, because once you’ve chose a track, you’re stuck with it or will be doing a major overall down the road.

Keep these typical mistakes under consideration when making plans for your layout and it should make building your O scale train layout much more delightful.
